Crafty Girls

Ever since the valentine-making fiesta, Emily and Kate have been getting more interested in crafts. We put together an "art bin" with markers, construction paper, glue sticks, crayons, and safety scissors, and they have been interested in it more and more. Emily is a huge fan of the scissors (maybe because her sister isn't allowed to use them yet?), and one of her favorite things to do is cut paper into tiny pieces.
Kate really enjoys peeling and sticking stickers. Sometimes stickers are hard to get off the sheet, but Kate is pretty stubborn (okay very stubborn) and will work and work at it until she gets the one she wants. Brenda's Aunt Marilyn sent the girls some coloring books for Valentine's Day, and coloring has become a favorite pastime. They usually want one of their moms to color with them. The girls are actually pretty good at sharing the crayons and markers. We like the crafts because even though they can get messy at times, they help keep the kids occupied for a little while during these long winter days!

  1. Crafts are great during the winter.

Hey, do you mind if we link to your blog on our blog? It would make it easier to visit you. It's funny that we both live near Portland, but on different coasts.

  2. hi guys, we're kinda anti-public when it comes to our blog adress....it's mainly just for people we know. I'll send you a message on FB as soon as I get access (can't from work) to explain why....I agree, the portland connection is funny. I have to train myself to say "portland, maine", otherwise I automatically think of oregon :)

  3. and I am just the opposite...Portland means Maine though everyone out west meant the OTHER Portland, which by the way, was named after Portland, Maine. (It was going to be portland or boston).
