QC Part 2

Another beautiful day in french-speaking Canada! We started off with a brisk walk to a bakery, where we enjoyed a kid-free breakfast.
Then we saw some sights, including the fortifications surrounding the old city. The sun was out and it was the last Saturday of the Winter Carnival, so the crowds were big.We checked on the kids while we were waiting in line...they were doing great!

We toured the ice castle.......and got our picture taken with "Bonhomme", the Carnival mascot.Later on we went out for dinner and drinks, and were quite surprised to see an ad for Olympia Beer in the bathroom. Olympia is an obscure local beer made in a town near where Brenda grew up in Washington. Who would have thought we would see an ad for it in the bathroom of an irish bar in Quebec City?Tonight there was a night parade to celebrate the end of the Carnival. The atmosphere was very festive, and the Caribou was flowing!
