Our faithful blog readers may remember that Kate started potty-training last summer. Well, she has been daytime diaper-free for almost six months now, but #2 has continued to be a problem. We always tell the kids to "listen to your bodies", but even the promise of M&M's couldn't cause Kate's bum to tell her when it needed to poop.
We are so glad to report that it seems like Kate's bum is finally talking to her!
For the past week or so she has started to realize ahead of time when a #2 is due, and she has been making it to Ducka with plenty of time to spare. This has meant lots of M&M's for Kate, and lots of happiness for her moms! And for those of you who are reading this and thinking "I would never talk to other people about my kids' poop", all we can say is just wait until you have kids--you'll probably do it too.
Wonderful! You know, we have M&M's here too, but haven't been able to use them yet. Maybe next Saturday...
ReplyDeleteNice work Kate!
ReplyDeleteI had special candy (gummy life savers) waiting for Addison to figure out how to go poo-poo in the potty. They waited a long time and she finally figured it out. I think gummy savers will now forever be known to us as "poo-poo candy" thanks to her!
Does she tell you when she has to go pee?
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous. I can't wait until Teo can hear his poo too.
ReplyDeleteJamie, I love the "poo poo candy" :) I always think of potty time when I see a bag of M&M's now....E, Kate is really good with peeing (and yes she always announces either event) but it took a long time to get to this point (6 months). She also doesn't pee much (we are always trying to get her to drink more water). Emily didn't START potty training until she was 2.5 and it took her a long time to stop having accidents (she's great at it now). It just takes time, but they all get it someday :)
