Since we moved to Maine it has been an obsession of Mom's to install an ice rink in our backyard. When we had our first snowstorm last week, she was inspired to actually build it.
The space between the garage and the shed is an ideal location, since it is unused in winter except for piles of driveway snow from the plow guy. Mom figures that she can bank the snow all around the rink instead. We already had the materials: Leftover wood from the swingset and sandbox projects, and plastic from the slip-n-slide party.Mom got it all finished just in time for last night's torrential downpour. This morning we discovered that the rink does, in fact, hold water. The girls knew right away what to do about all the water in the rink: A splashing party! Now all we need is a nice cold snap to complete our Rink of Dreams.

What a great idea! A practice rink for the girls, right at home! Very cool. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome idea. I want to skate on it when there's some ice!
ReplyDeleteOk, so you guys are officially the world's greatest parents! Your own private ice rink. I'm stunned!
