Today was the day we've been waiting for: The Preschool Holiday Concert!
The girls have been practicing their songs diligently since September (we have certainly heard Frosty the Snowman in the car about 100 times) and they were ready to perform. They looked good in their brand new holiday dresses too.
The concert was at the Fairfield Community Center. We didn't stop to pose outside much, because it was -1 degrees! Brrrrrrrrr.....Besides their moms, the girls had other fans at the concert too. Grandma and Pop Pop came to watch........and so did Nana and Grandpa N.!Excitement was in the air as the kids filed on to the stage and took their seats (and there were a few tears too, but thankfully none from our kids). Once again the preschool magic took over and somehow 6 adults kept 100 kids mostly quiet and in place.
There was a lot of concern on Emily and Kate's faces while they searched the audience for us.And then they saw us! Knowing where their moms were made them much happier and ready to sing. In the photo below, Emily's bff Cole is the boy on her left with the big smile.
Kate got to sit in the front row, since she was one of the littlest. The older kids (elementary age) started the concert by playing tin whistle tunes, and ended it by doing some african-style drumming and singing. In between, the littler kids joined in and sang about ten songs. Predictably, the audience (mostly parents and grandparents) loved it. Almost all of the people standing in the photo below are either taking pictures or filming. When it was all over (about an hour), the kids were noticeably relieved. Kate received congratulatory hugs from her grandparents while Emily hit the bathroom with Mama. All that performing can make little girls very hungry.......and thirsty! Then it was time to say goodbye to classmates for the two-week holiday vacation. That's Noah and Leo in the photo below (aren't they handsome!).The Preschool Concert was a big success!
SOOOO cute! LOVE the one of Em, Kate, Noah and Leo!!! Can I have a copy?????!
