Emily hasn't wanted to try skating again (even with her bum padding) since she fell on the ice--but tonight for some reason both girls wanted to "practice" skating in the living room. Mom cleared out Connor (to avoid any tail amputation accidents), tied on their skates, and got out of the way.
They just love to walk around in their skates. As a bonus, it keeps them occupied AND tires them out....perfect activity!
They also like to practice falling. This is great fun until somebody takes a skate blade to the head (which, thankfully, didn't happen tonight).
Anything that gets them a little bit closer to playing hockey is a good thing (says Mom).
Later, after bathtime, the girls helped Mama out by shelling and sorting bean seed for next year's garden.
It's kind of amazing how they can be making a crazy mess one minute, then quietly helping us the next.
