The girls got some special surprise eggs when we went to Nana's last Saturday. The instructions said to put them in water, and something would hatch in 24-48 hours. We all wondered, what would it be?
Mom got the eggs out of their packages and the girls practiced holding them gently.
Then each girl carefully put her own egg in a jar of water. They are recognizing letters now so they insisted that the jars be labeled.
Then it was time to wait and watch! We checked in the morning....
....and we checked at night.
The eggs started to crack and split open, and there were lots of guesses about what was coming out. Emily thought it might be a cow, and Kate was just hoping it was something pink.
Finally the babies emerged.....Ducks!
