Tonight after dinner we were playing the game of Emily rolling down the hill and Kate tackling her (fun!), when Emily had a great idea....
....she suggested that we go check out the wetland at the edge of the field!
It sounded muddy to Mom, but since it was bath night anyway, we pulled on our rubber boots and headed down the hill. On the way down we stopped at a woodchuck hole to see if "Chucky" would come out, but he was hiding.
The wetland wasn't too muddy. It hasn't rained in a while, but there was still a small stream flowing. Emily suggested that we bring one of her bathtub boats next time and make it float down the stream. Another great idea!

Kate, on the other hand, does not like to get dirty. She pointed out a spot of mud on her boot and insisted that Mom remove it.
We searched for wildlife (Mom was hoping for frogs or snakes) but we only saw a few birds.
But we did see our neighbors' kitty! Kate was thrilled.
