Today Grandma and Pop Pop drove to Auburn to pick up our "packets" for the Dempsey Challenge (DC) on Sunday. The DC is a fundraiser for the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing (for more info click here). They brought the packets (which were actually big red cloth bags) over to our house as soon as they got back.
Grandma pointed out that each of us girls got a giant box of tampons in our bag. The kids were a little puzzled by them, but the moms agreed that was pretty sweet. The kids loved digging into their bags, which were mostly filled with flyers and coupons. Emily immediately wanted to try on her DC long-sleeved t-shirt.She was pretty sad to find out that they didn't have any Youth sizes (even though we picked that option at registration), so it will be a few years before she can fit into her "Adult Small" t-shirt.Kate found some more treasures in her bag, including a copy of DownEast magazine!Em turned her frown around after she found her DC water bottle. She insisted on filling it up and drinking from it right away.We got our race numbers and our parking passes too, which were the most important parts. It looks like we're all ready for the Dempsey Challenge!
