Davis now has some competition! Chris put up a new rain gauge recently so she could post rainfall data on the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow Network (otherwise known as CoCoRHaS, link here).
The design is very simple, unlike Davis' tipping bucket. It simply collects the rain and any overflow (over 1 inch), and must be read and emptied every 24 hours.
So far it looks like Davis is not as accurate as we thought...and Chris is actually even more weatha-crazy than we thought!The name of the new gauge, obviously, is CoCo.
