Adding to the Brushpile

Now that we've had the time change, there is a lot more light in the evening, which means more opportunity after dinner to get outside chores done. Chris has been cutting down an old apple tree in the back yard, and tonight we all pitched in to drag it down to the brushpile.
With the weather finally warming up, Chris has pulled "Fudgie" back out of storage. If you know Chris, you know her treasured fudgsicle hat. Over thirty years old and still keeping her warm! The kids did a lot of work dragging the branches down the driveway.

Kate even stopped to pick up a stray branch with her free hand. Now that's a good worker!Emily tried to throw the branches up onto the pile, but it was a little bit too tall for her.The countdown is on to burn the brushpile, because we want to do it before Farmer Steve fertilizes the field. We plan to break out the Caribou and hard cider and have a bonfire party within the next couple of weeks. Fun!
