Tonight we decided to do some painting, and Emily had the great idea of painting the birdhouse! The girls made the birdhouse last summer during a Home Depot Kids' Workshop. They usually park their trucks in it in the living room, but it has always been just a boring wood color.
Mom got all the paint supplies ready and then the girls picked out their colors. Kate (of course) picked red, but Emily surprised Mom and picked orange and magenta (she's usually a blue/green girl).
Emily likes to paint with both hands at a time.
The house looks pretty good pink! Of course we have to wonder if the birds will like a pink house...
The girls were so excited to be painting objects that we also painted a couple pieces of scrap wood and a cardboard box.
It's funny how the girls are so different. Emily always ends up covered in paint, while Kate hardly gets a drop on her.
Uh oh, bath time. Good thing it's washable paint!
