DAR

Last night Brenda and Chris went to Rockland to see Dar Williams in concert at the Strand.
Before the concert, we met our friends Hildy and Nancy for dinner. We went to Sonfire Mexican Grill, which was very good. And it's hard to get good Mexican food in Maine (OK, it wasn't California Mexican, but more yuppie/nouveau Mexican).
Nice thing about these shows is that there's little line and wait to get in and we got second row seats.
Chris started going to Dar concerts in the mid-90's in western Massachusetts and has seen her many times since then. Dar, as usual, was great in concert (and her comments/stories between songs are very funny!). She was solo, which means more of her slower slightly intense songs, but she rocked it on a few numbers.
As a slight aside, Chris wore her "UP with Libraries" shirt. Now this is a vintage t-shirt compliments of my father who just retired as the Maine State Librarian. Cleaning out his office, he found a few boxes of these super thin, totally early 80's t-shirts. They're classics...

  2. Aww... I missed another Dar concert? Did she sing February or Christians and the Pagans?
