The girls are growing so fast, sometimes we don't even realize that they could be taking the next step. Emily has been sitting in a high chair at mealtime, but we finally decided to switch her to a booster seat, so she could sit at the table with us like a big girl. Tonight Nana was over for dinner and Emily showed off her new seat.
At first Kate was very jealous of Emily's new seat, but we reassured her that "someday soon" she will be getting her own booster seat. Of course, hers will be pink (Kate's favorite color is pink). That seemed to satisfy her.
After dinner Emily showed Nana her new routine: First she took off her bib, folded it, and set it on the table.
Then she got down from her seat and took her dish into the kitchen....
....where she put it up on the counter. Perfect!
Emily loves sitting at the table with us, and her mealtime behavior is much better too. Why didn't we think of this sooner?
