Agway

For some reason, Emily and Kate love going to the Agway store that is right near our house. Every time we drive by it they shout "Agway" (or something close to that), and they are thrilled when we take them there.
There are some fun things to look at, like the tiny animal display. Last week we let the girls choose one animal each to play with in the sandbox, and they each chose a pig. Kate picked the baby pig, and Emily picked what we thought was a mama pig, but upon closer inspection it turned out to be a male pig. For some reason these tiny animals are very anatomically correct! The girls have most of their Agway fun outside. There is a great swing, which the entire family can fit on (yes we tried it)........and a pretty waterfall that is captivating to the kids. Our kids can even make bags of manure seem fun!

  1. That is so hilarious that you posted about those animals at the grocery store. We often let Teo pick one out as a treat when we're shopping at Fred Meyer. Unfortunately, he's on his third baby pig because he loses them, and always wants the pig. We also have the large, male pig though. I also thought it was a mama pig until I saw what you were talking about. SS and I were JUST talking about the anatomical correctness the other day. Funny!!

  2. It IS funny--why do they have to make them so correct? I thought it was because Agway is a farmer's store, and we're in farm country, and farm kids know all about animal anatomy. But, if you found the same thing at Fred Meyer, then I have no explanation!

  3. I think they're made in Germany, anyway. I like that they're so detailed in every way (Teo has the cat and the bottom of its paws look like actual paws).
