Play Date

Today we had Amy and her kids over for a play date! Alison and Luke are a little bit older than Emily and Kate, but they still like playing together.
Alison read a story to Kate........and everyone played with the dollhouse........it was a lot of fun. Then Mama cooked up a delicious lunch of barbecued shrimp and roasted vegetables, with hot dogs for the kids. We let the kids eat first........then the grownups enjoyed a quiet meal while the kids ransacked the playroom. Nana came over to enjoy the meal and also spend some time with us on Mother's Day.Then we went outside to play, even though it was kind of cold and very windy. The kids pretended like there was sand in the sandbox (maybe tomorrow!).........they went for a short walk in the woods........and Mama showed everyone her garden. Then Mama had the great idea of going over to Farmer Steve's pond to look for tadpoles. We headed across the field.......had to crawl under a fence........and then throw out a bucket to try and catch something. We didn't find any tadpoles, but we did find a "frog egg mass" that looked and felt really cool. The kids liked checking out the pond. What a nice time!
