Today we went to Nana's house to help her celebrate her 70th birthday! We got there early to help set up for the party, and the girls had some fun playing on the swingset with Mom.
They also did some synchronized jumping off the lawn furniture (for once it wasn't raining). Then the guests started arriving, and it was time for Nana to open her presents.Emily feels like every birthday is her birthday too, and she generously helped Nana do the unwrapping.Uncle Seth and Uncle David put Nana's new birthday grill to good use right away! The kids ate first, then it was time for the grownups to chow down and socialize........while the kids ran wild and enjoyed the beautiful sunny day.The photo below was an attempt to get all the cousins to line up in order by height... which they did, sort of.Then it was time to bring out the cake and sing Happy Birthday. It's funny how the kids all seem to show up again right when the cake appears. The cake was delicious--chocolate with peanut butter frosting...yum!After cake, the kids started an apple-throwing battle in the back yard. Some of the grownups even joined sides too!A crazy chaotic end to a fun party and day. Happy Birthday Nana!
