On Saturday we marked the end of summer by having another giant slip-n-slide party! The weather was perfect--about 75 degrees and low humidity. This time we used a piece of clear plastic instead of black, which was nice because it didn't get so hot to the touch.
Once again we had the grandparents over, but this time they were content to watch instead of actually slip and slide. And we had a special guest: Millie came over too!Melinda and Uncle David came over to enjoy the beautiful day with us too. This time we added a snack table, which was a big hit with the kids.Water balloons are always a fun addition to the sliding. And we had some first-timers on the slide too: Schoolmate Jack, along with his big brother Kent and mom Tina. Finally Mama had all the hoses and sprinklers set up, and the kids hit the hill.Kate started out wanting to sit on Mom, but eventually she did some sliding all by herself.Sebastian set some speed records!Sliding with your brother is always fun.......and so is sliding with your uncle! It was great to see the smiles on the kids' faces as they enjoyed themselves on this beautiful day. There were smiles on the moms' faces too, as the kids entertained themselves.
Some of the grownups started hitting the slide too (it was hard to resist). And it was nice to do some visiting too. After about an hour, the end of the slide started turning into mud. Unsurprisingly, the kids didn't mind at all.The mud allowed Mama to show off her nice agility moves. Nice finish Mama! With the advent of the mud, it was time to pick up the slip-n-slide and call it a day. What a nice way to say "so long" to summer!
GREAT Moo! And a great afternoon.
