It hasn't snowed for over a week now, and conditions are deteriorating on our sledding hill. Today it was pretty warm (in the 40's) and the kids discovered that the best way to get down the hill is to rump-slide it.
Here's a video of them both hitting the hill. It's great to see them improvising like this, instead of insisting on using a sled. After rump-sliding the hill a few times, we headed down the driveway to get the mail. The girls were holding hands voluntarily, which is very nice to see.
There is a snowbank at the low point in the driveway, and Emily really enjoys hurling herself off it and into the snow (Kate prefers to watch her instead of hurling herself).Em really is a good athlete--it's fun to watch her enjoy trying new things. After the mail run we tried out the Rink of Dreams, but the warm weather has made the ice pretty bad. It was still decent enough for Mama to relive her old olympic figure skating dreams though!
