If you have ever been around Brenda's family at Christmas time, you know that they always make decorated cookies. Today we had a cookie party, and Melinda, Nana, and Grandma and Grandpa L. came over to join in the fun.
The first step was rolling out the dough, and Melinda showed Emily how to do it...
....while Nana helped Kate with her dough.
Then we cut out the cookies with our cutters, and started decorating. Both Emily and Kate preferred to eat the sprinkles instead of putting them on the cookies.
They did eventually get the hang of it, but they probably ate more sugar today than ever before in their lives! 
While the cookies were baking, the kids enjoyed their sugar high by wrestling with Melinda.
The final step is to try some of the cookies. By now, the girls were starting to come down from sugar land.
This is the look of a kid on the downward slope.
We love making decorated cookies, but it's probably good that we only do it once a year!
