This morning when Emily got up and came down the stairs, she couldn't believe her eyes...Santa had visited during the night and left presents under our Christmas tree!
She demanded that we wake up Kate so that the present-opening fiesta could begin.Kate was a little bewildered by the whole thing. She doesn't like to be woken up early (it was about 7:00), but once she saw the tree and the stockings she turned her frown upside down.Besides presents from Santa, the girls also received gifts from our friends in Seattle and right here in Maine. It was so fun to see the excitement and joy in their faces as they opened each gift!Even Connor got a new toy--a squeaky tractor...yum.Santa brought the girls some painting supplies, so they can get crazy and creative.Mama got a present from Santa too...a bicycle wheel truing stand! How did he know that's what she wanted?Mom got some presents too...her favorite was the super-warm "bomber" hat. Now when she takes Connor down to the mailbox in the morning her ears will be toasty warm! The final present that the girls unwrapped this morning was one piece of train track each. They looked puzzled, until Mom suggested that they go up to the playroom and look. They ran up the stairs to find that Santa had brought them a train table! The girls thought the train table was fantastic. It looks like Santa did a pretty good job this year.
It's amazing how much fun Christmas is when seen through the eyes of a child. We hope that all of our blog readers are enjoying the holidays and spending time with those they love. Merry Christmas!
