Tonight some new friends came over: Abby and Jacob, who also brought their Mom Ashley (she went to high school with Chris). It was very hot and humid today, so the kids splashed around in the pool, then went up to the playroom while the moms visited.
Abby figured out the Barbie keyboard right away, and made up some great songs.
Emily liked Abby's music so much that she put on a dancing show. Surprisingly, she insisted on wearing the fancy white dress while she danced.
Eventually the dance show turned into a fish pillow fight....
....and then a fish pillow fighting dance party. Sweet!
Mama barbecued up some chicken and hamburgers for everyone.
Ashley is from South China (Maine), but now she lives in Virginia with her family. She and Chris had a nice chat while Mom played with the kids.
After dinner the kids blew some bubbles....
...then they hit the swingset, where they found yet another use for that fish pillow!
We topped the evening off with ice cream and Mama's famous blueberry pie. Yum!
We sure enjoyed our evening with Abby, Jacob, and their mom!
And we enjoyed it, too! (finally catching up on the blog...) Love how the picture of me trying to feed blueberry pie to Jacob looks as though he couldn't wait to eat it -- when in fact, he seemed to think I was trying to poison him. With PIE. *sigh*
