Big Trip to Seattle Day 1

Today we left for our big trip to Seattle for Brenda's 20 year high school reunion. The kids are staying home with Grandma & Nana for this one, so it's kind of like a vacation for the Moms.
The Boston airport is kind of fun...we really liked this statue of Ted Williams.
After a five-hour flight we finally arrived in Seattle. It was a little bit chillier than we expected, so we were glad we brought our sweatshirts.
We had requested a "compact" rental car, and somehow we ended up with this PT Cruiser. Chris has always disliked this kind of car, but she agreed to give it a try.
It sure was nice to be back in the Northwest! Brenda thought the space needle needed a little help, so she gave it a hand.
Our first activity was to meet up with Anmari and Tobias for lunch. It was really great to see them!
We went to a sushi restaurant, which Chris had really been looking forward to...it was delicious!
After lunch we hit a couple new spots, including this bike shop.....
....where Chris was in her element....
....and we tried Molly Moon's ice cream for the first time....
....which was also delicious!
Then we headed over to Leslie and Patti's house, and took a nice walk with them, their son Mack, and their dog Daisy.
Chris even found some apples to pick along the way!
Baby Mack is four months old already, and a real sweetheart.
It was sure nice to stretch our legs with a stroll along Lake Washington.
Leslie invited some friends over for a barbecue to help celebrate our arrival in the Northwest. Beth and Miss Jenny were glad to see us, but of course Mack was the center of attention.
Jenny came over too, and everyone got a good laugh out of Brenda's reunion photo album.
Then Rhonda and Bianca showed up, and Mack really got some attention.
Brenda, Rhonda, and Leslie are all eagerly anticipating their big 20th reunion tomorrow night!
Leslie whipped up a great barbecue dinner--Yum!
It sure was nice to see all of our old friends again!
