Visiting School

Tonight after dinner we decided to visit the girls' preschool so Mama could work on the apple trees there.

While Mama worked on the trees, the kids hit the playground. Emily has started to realize that she has special responsibilities as a big sister. Since Kate will be starting school for the first time next week, Emily felt it was her duty to show her all the best parts of the playground. It was really pretty sweet.As you might have guessed, the playground is Emily's favorite part of schoolKate is pretty comfortable on the playground by now, but she is still a little nervous about the rest of school.Then we got a surprise--someone was working late and the school was actually open! The girls were excited to go inside and preview the classrooms.Now Emily had even more things to show Kate! There was the row of cubbies for storing shoes and coats........all the different types of counting activities........the special montessori wooden cylinders........the math bead workstation........and she even showed her the trains in the playroom. By this time, Kate was getting kind of tired of Emily showing her everything. She certainly knows how to play trains, after all!Still, Kate is really very lucky to have a big sister like Emily to show her the ropes.
