We don't usually stay out late on a work night, but tonight we went to a special event: A bluegrass festival over in Sidney, our neighboring town. This is the 33rd anniversary of the festival, so we figured that it must be pretty good.
We were happily surprised to hitch a ride on this golf cart from the parking lot to the concert--always a nice touch when you're carrying lawn chairs and you have little kids.
We got there just in time for the start of the music, and we found a nice spot not too close to the speakers, with room for the kids to dance. The first band was really good: The Bluegrass Brothers from Virginia. It was great music and a beautiful summer night, but unfortunately Emily wasn't feeling well, so she mostly sat on Mama's lap.Kate made herself quite comfortable (and so did Fred and Velma).Pretty soon Kate felt the urge to dance (who can resist bluegrass after all?). She started with some interpretive moves........then this very young singer came on and she really got into it........and she let 'er rip. Kate really likes to dance.Alison and Luke joined us at the festival, and brought their mom and dad too!
Eventually the kids got worn out and we had to head for home, but we definitely had a nice time at the bluegrass festival.
